I always believed that hormone imbalances were something that would happen when I got "older" in life. That it would just be something that was going to happen somewhere down the line. Little did I kow or understand that hormone imbalances can happen in any age .
For me It began before I was even 30. I was tired all the time. Achy. Moody. I had poor digestive issues. Headache. Terrible hair , skin and nail. I fel so old. My libo was low and I was misserable. Even depressed at times. I may not of known it then but I was suffereing from hormone imbalances. Ultimately I was diagnosised with Hashimotto's Thyroiditis. Not that I understood what that was nor how to treat it. I was given a prescription . Not other advice and sent on my way. Ummmm Now what ? Just because I now I knew what I was dealing with didn't mean I knew what I was going to do. It has taken me years to truly be able to understand and firgure out what I can do in order to help thrive instead of just surviving.
I know I am not alone in this . We may not have the same issues but mainy of us women struggle in silence and we must open up the dialogue so we can start to feel better in our own skin.
The problem is that hormonal imbalance feel like a curse, women are often left with no other choice but to deal with it. Even with the availability of treatment options like hormone replacement therapy, prescribed medications, and even changes in lifestyle, there is still a huge percentage of the general population suffering from its consequences. Lack of sex drive, persistent weight gain, unexplainable cravings, weird mood swings, and breakdown of acne are just some of its most common symptoms, which you will surely wish not to experience. Amongst other things, one that will definitely help is to have an increased awareness about its causes, which will make you understand why such has to happen. This is also a preliminary step in being able to find the relief that will work best in individual cases.

If you are experiencing hormonal imbalance, one of the reasons would be the lack of fiber intake from your daily diet. Make sure to eat fibrous foods to allow the body to eliminate excess hormones.
Pollution is another common cause of hormonal imbalance among women. There are different toxins that get mixed in the air, which will have a negative impact in hormone secretion. If you live in a bustling metropolis, there is a higher likelihood of suffering from hormonal imbalance. In addition, even at home, the different products that you are using can contain a wealth of pollutants that can affect your hormones negatively in ways more than one. Petrochemicals that are found in Styrofoam, cleaning agents, and even your car exhaust can lead into exposure to unnatural estrogens. Once they are absorbed by the body, they will thrive in your receptor cells and may inhibit the production of progesterone. There are many ways to counter act these enviromental factors.
